History

In the late Middle Ages, the Archbishop owned a croft in Kallhäll. In 1539 the name - spelt Kalhelle (= bare slab) - was first mentioned.

In 1909, Bolinders workshops moved some of their manufacturing activities from Klara strand in the centre of Stockholm, and the Kallhäll we now know began to emerge - near Lake Mälaren and the railway line. The protect ed brick buildings near Kallhällsbaden remind us of the prominent role played by Bolinders in Kallhäll.

In the 1960's, Kallhäll grew - providing homes for many in the expanding Stockholm region.
